Physician Assistant Rights

Destroyed beyond repair, your body, mind and soul. You cannot see, walk, talk, eat, and mentally operate. The torturous suffering because of the disease your body contains, and the immense pain coming out with each moans and groans. What is the use of ones body that is deteriorating right before your eyes? Why not just unplug it? That is what Physician Assistant Rights is all about. Is it right or wrong? Is it humane? Are we playing God? Would one do it?

I understand why one would want to put an end to someone’s painful suffering, simply because they don’t want the person they love to go through any additional pain. The on going seizures, and bedsores, are too painful to bear. Not only the patient is suffering but the family and friends are too. Moreover, if the patient wants to end his pain, then there is no wrong in ending their pain.

On the other hand, some people just cant take this step. They don’t loose hope, and want to fight the disease through the end. They believe as if they are playing God. Only God knows when its time to go. If one is alive, its because of some reason.

My sister went through the same torture. Her pain was 21 years and two months long, until her body gave up and she died, because her brain was severally damaged due to countless seizures she received everyday. Her lungs collapsed due to a large extent infection she acquired from ammonia. The doctors offered us the choice of taking her off her machines, but my parents just couldn’t. They were fighting against hope that maybe there will be a miracle, and she will be all right. Perhaps if I wasn’t her sister, I might have taken up the doctors’ advice.

I can’t decide if Physician Assistants Rights is right or wrong, because it has its benefits and disadvantages. If it would be in my authority to end my sisters life, I would, but the again it is different from saying it and doing it.
